What Is Breast Fibroadenoma?
Many young women and pre-menopausal women develop a lump in their breast. This lump is called Fibroadenoma. The term fibroadenoma combines the words “fibroma,” meaning a tumour made up of fibrous tissue, and “adenoma,” a tumour of gland tissue.
This lump is round or oval in shape and usually painless by nature but maybe associated with mild pain. Usually, a Breast Fibroadenoma is non-cancerous and in rare cases, it turns out to be benign cancer. The first thing that We tell our patients is to remove the fear of cancer from their mind. According to research 8 out of 10 cases of Breast Fibroadenoma are resolved by a simple Breast Swelling Excision procedure.
What Is Breast Swelling Excision Procedure?
Breast swelling excision surgery is also referred to as Lumpectomy or Breast Lump Removal Surgery by doctors. This is a surgery where the doctor removes the tumorous growth known as Breast Fibroadenoma from the patient’s breast.

A step by step breakdown of the Breast Swelling Excision Surgery:
-
Depending on your case, We will either administer local anaesthesia with intravenous sedation or general anaesthesia. Once you are comfortably numb, the surgery will begin.
-
We will locate the lump based on clinical examination and findings in the imaging reports you have given to him during the consultation.
-
The next step is making an incision to remove the lump and some healthy tissue surrounding it. This step is performed very carefully. We make the incision in such a way that the scar is not visible at all after the surgery.
-
The lump that has been removed will be sent out to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
-
The incision is closed with sutures. The surgery is completed with this step.
